Library Hosts Digital Bookmobile National Tour Event June 26

The Digital Bookmobile National Tour is coming to the Dr. James Carlson Library this week. The Digital Bookmobile showcases the free eBook and audiobook download service available through the Fargo Public Library. The Digital Bookmobile will be in the parking lot at the Dr. James Carlson Library (2801 32nd Ave. S.) location on Wednesday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open to readers of all ages, this event is designed to introduce residents to the library’s downloadable resources through interactive demonstrations and high-definition instructional videos. A gadget gallery, located inside the Digital Bookmobile, allows visitors to learn how to download eBooks, audiobooks and more to their smartphones, tablets or other digital devices. There will be iPads, iPhones, Android phones, and eBook readers such as the Kindle available to demonstrate the process of downloading eBooks and audiobooks offered from the Fargo Public Library. For more information on the Digital Bookmobile visit and a list of upcoming events, call the Dr. James Carlson Information Desk at (701) 476-5980 or visit www.fargolibrary.org.

Housed inside an 18-wheel tractor-trailer, the Digital Bookmobile, a 74-foot community outreach vehicle, is a high-tech update of the traditional bookmobile that has served communities for decades. The vehicle is equipped with broadband Internet-connected PCs, high definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players, all of which help visitors explore the Fargo Public Library’s download service. Interactive learning stations give visitors an opportunity to search the library’s digital media collection, use supported mobile devices, and sample eBooks, audiobooks, music, and video.

Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public. A complete schedule of events is available at all library locations and online at www.fargolibrary.org.
