Library kicks off New Year with kids’ Winter Read-A-Thon

The Fargo Public Library invites area youngsters to put an end to those winter blahs and warm up with some good books during the library’s annual Winter Read-A-Thon reading program for kids. With programs, events and reading opportunities for kids of all ages, the winter reading program can add a little excitement, adventure and mystery to dreary winter days; plus it also provides opportunities for kids to track their reading for chances to win prizes.

To participate, stop by any Fargo Public Library location beginning Wednesday, Jan. 2 to pick up a book log or visit our website to print off a book log and to find out all the details to get started. Youngsters, from birth to 12 years old, are encouraged to read to earn chances to enter prize drawings. Kids’ book logs and entries are due on or before Thursday, Feb. 28 to be eligible for prizes and prize drawings. Call the Children’s Librarian at 241-1495 for further details.

For more information regarding the Fargo Public Library and a complete list of upcoming events, call 241-1472 or visit the library’s website, www.fargolibrary.org.
