Library Encourages Parking At The Main Library With Promotion

Did you know you can get 2 hours of free parking when you visit the downtown Main Library? Starting July 2, the Fargo Public Library kicks off a promotion to encourage parking at the downtown Main Library. Titled “Parking at Your Library Pays”, this promotion is an effort to “encourage potential downtown library users to give parking in the Civic Center –Library parking lot a try” according to Deputy Library Director Beth Postema. “It’s easy, free for two hours, and may help fill your gas tank.”

Library users who park in the Civic Center parking lot along 3rd St. North and visit the downtown Main Library can enter to win the library’s monthly drawing for a pre-paid gas card.

Library Director Tim Dirks wants residents to know that “it’s important to remove any potential barriers to library services, and the perception is that parking at the downtown Main Library is a barrier. We want all residents to know how easy and convenient parking is at the Main Library and that they should experience all that the Main Library has to offer.”

Any library visitor who parks in the Civic Center parking lot and receives a parking pass which they get validated at the downtown library is eligible, but not required, to enter the “Parking at Your Library Pays” monthly drawing. One winner will be chosen by random drawing each month. Winners will receive a $20 pre-paid gas card; the promotion runs from July through December 2012.
